Law enforcement sources say DJ AM -- also known as Adam Goldstein -- was found dead this afternoon in New York City. He was found in his apartment at around 5:20 PM. We're told drug paraphernalia was found at the scene.
Sources say DJ AM had not been seen or heard from for a few days -- one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door.
We're told the friend called the police, who broke down the door and then found DJ AM's body.
Back in September of 2008, DJ AM and Travis Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina. Four people died in the crash -- which was caused when the airplane aborted takeoff and then ran off the runway. DJ AM and Barker were the only survivors.
Whatever line there was between retail games and downloadable titles has essentially been torn down.
You can now download full retail games straight to your console thanks to the new Xbox 360 Dashboard Update. And the Xbox Live Summer of Arcade has been rock solid.
But wait. There’s more.
The final release of Summer of Arcade hits this week - on Wednesday precisely. And it’s been getting stellar reviews.
IGN calls it “one of the best games yet in 2009” - that’s out of all games, not just XBLA titles. MondoXbox says it’s"capable of rivaling even many of the retail games out there.”
Shadow Complex further blurs the line between retail and downloadable games - if not completely destroying that line.
Shadow Complex is a Metroid/Castlevania-style game that features 2.5D side-scrolling action gameplay. Based on the praiseworthy reviews, this one sounds like a winner.
Suspicions about that earlier Kmart ad were spot-on. The link is now hot with specs showing a PS3 Slim priced at $300 which includes Blu-ray, a 120GB hard disk, DualShock3 controller, and HDMI output with 1080p support. It's listed with an August 24 release date which seems a bit eager to us. The Kmart site is updating which means that some of these details could change (like the price and date) but this seems like a definite for announcement later today. ~ ibG
Since rumors have pretty much been confirmed for the discontinuation of the Xbox 360 Pro in favor of a lighter priced Elite, many have wondered what Sony’s response will be. Now, we may have a possible answer.
It seems a number of Europe retailers are dropping the current price of the PS3 to a much nicer, consumer-friendly amount. GameStop Iberia announced via Twitter that the official PS3 price was now €299 ($424.58), which is €100 less than the product’s standard price.
French electronics retailer Fnac is also selling the PS3 for a lower-then-usual price, offering the 80GB PS3 inFamous bundle for only €299. However, it seems that this is only for the Portuguese store.
Stay tuned with ibG as we’ll have full details of a PS3 drop in the U.S. when -and if- it arrives.

They're the best. They're the beautiful. They're the only Ghostbusters and they're back in videogame form. Not since the 80s have we seen this band of wise-cracking, ghost-catching heroes and thankfully their return is a happy one full of great jokes, good graphics and lots of fun game play.
I’ll be the first to admit that most movie games suck but as soon as I booted up this game and heard that familiar Ghostbusters theme, I could help but let my fan feelings take over and melt all over this thing.
The game’s story continues on after the last movie with you playing as a new Ghostbusters recruit (no name & no voice) that has been hired to test out all the new equipment for the guys while out on assignment with them. Things have become pretty ghost infested in the city after a huge energy pulse was released from an object that the museum’s new Ivo Shandor exhibit (Ivo Shandor was the guy from the first movie that built Diana’s apartment building to be a gateway for Gozer). So you must help the Ghostbusters figure out the cause behind this new spiritual mayhem.
As a Ghostbusters, you get to do all the things a Ghostbusters does from using the proton pack to wrangle ghosts to using the PKE meter to detect the little suckers. Ghost catching is incredible hard as you have to wear the ghost down with your proton stream, then catch him in the stream to knock him around a bit more, and then finally you must pull him into the light of the ghost trap and hold him there until the trap sucks him in. It’s a long process but somehow fulfilling in a geeky way.
As the official new equipment tester, you will be given new proton packs and other toys to test out in the game as you proceed. You will also be given the chance to use the money you earn catching ghosts to upgrade this equipment in order to make your life easier with faster traps or stronger streams. Hidden curse objects are also available throughout the game which have no real affect on the game itself but make for a nice achievement on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in the end if you collect them all.
Almost everything in the game is destructible and you can view your damage costs in the main menu versus your earned money. There’s no need to worry about the damage you cause though because the city covers everything in the end anyway, so have at it in the name of ghostbusting. Busting makes me feel good!
The designers did a fabulous job on bringing back to life each character from the franchise with such accurate looking digital 3D versions of themselves. From each member of the Ghostbusters to the annoying Walter Peck, each character looks exactly as they did in the movies which is better than what they’ll look like in Ghostbusters 3, if that ever gets made. The ghosts used the in game had a unique artist style which gave each of them their own scary flair and haunting look.
Those fans of the original 1980s Ghostbusters movies will be happy to know that the original writers and cast had been brought back to oversee the creation of the game from start to finish which really added to making the whole game seem like a 3rd movie in the franchise as opposed to a crappy movie game. Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd who originally created and wrote the Ghostbusters’ screenplay were on deck to write the game’s script and ensure the game practically bled real ectoplasm. Even Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and William Atherton came on board to provide the voice for their original characters but some voice-overs like Murray’s seemed like they were phoned-in. Luckily for him, the jokes in the game were top notch and all bad acting was forgiven.
While the game’s plot may have you rolling your eyes a bit at its corniness, the effort made to tie it into the first movie is still pretty cool and I think fans of the films will enjoy the references. This truly was a great effort from everyone involved from the developers to the original cast and I can’t stress how great this game is. Fans of the series will love the trip down memory lane with the Ghostbusters and hopefully new players will be introduced to the one group of ghost hunters we always laugh with as opposed to laughed at.
Lenovo has just released its latest nettop, the IdeaCentre C100. The C100 uses an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 2GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and includes a DVD burner. The display is a 20-incher, and and once Windows 7 launches, they’ll even sell a touchscreen model. You’ll have to settle for Windows Vista for the time being, and the price is about $400, with Wi-Fi and webcam as optional add-ons.
Yes - A Perfect Getaway is about an idyllic vacation gone wrong. Yes - the music should have an island feel. But is Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” the best tune they could have selected for this trailer?
Every time the promo airs on television, I keep thinking an Overstock.com commercial is playing in the background. (Don’t even get me started on the cheesy voiceover.) I find the whole thing to be terribly distracting. I mean - why don’t they just play Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s “Over the Rainbow” while they’re at it?
What do you think? Are there other trailer/music combos that stick out in your mind? Let us know!
Sony is getting ready to drop the 2TB Memory Stick XC. Since the XC maintains the same form factor as other Memory Sticks, we are going to guess that these will end up being backwards-compatible with the rest of the XC line. Considering that SD cards are struggling to get to 64GB, this 2TB feat is pretty incredible. According to Sony, the XC range will use the exFAT file storage system, which is far and away better than the antiquated FAT12/16/32. Of course, this will all come at a price, because it is a proprietary Sony item, after all. Those details haven’t been announced yet, but let’s just say that we think it will be a while before the average photographer has one of these in their camera.

On the war-torn planets of tomorrow, mankind's greatest battle is about to begin. With its frontier colonies devastated by a growing insurrection, Earth dispatches the elite 8th Armored Infantry (nicknamed "Section 8™") to repel the coming onslaught.
The nickname refers to an old United States military regulation where a soldier would be dismissed from service through being mentally unfit for duty. The near-suicidal missions that this division volunteers for brands them as insane by other military units.
Section 8 deploys by 'burning in' from their orbital drop ships tens of thousands of feet above the battlefield, utilizing the most advanced arsenal of military hardware known to man. Their mission: to scout and secure difficult objectives and smash enemy defenses in lightning-quick assaults.
An intense first-person shooter, Section 8 allows players to dynamically alter the flow of combat as they see fit. Employing tactical assets and on-demand vehicle deliveries, players are given unprecedented strategic control over epic sci-fi battlefields.
As the zombie infection spreads uncontrollably and the undead outnumber humans, a small band of heavily equipped gunslingers set out to destroy as many zombies as they can and try to save any of the remaining survivors. Up to four players can try and stop the zombie apocalypse with an arsenal of deadly weapons, such as an assault rifle, flame thrower, grenade launcher, and when ammo is low a chainsaw will be your last line of defense against becoming one of the undead.
This action packed, arcade-style shooter will test your dual analog stick shooting skills and ability to survive 55 days of relentless zombie attacks.

The long anticipated Playstation network exclusive is finally here! But does it deliver? Or does it crumble under the hype?
The story is told through a children’s chapter book, and each chapter is a new mission. For example in one chapter your princess is kidnapped so the King orders you to retrieve her which start the game mode “Rescue the Princess” or you must fight the other kingdom which start a “Team Deathmatch”. I rather enjoyed the story because it never takes itself to seriously, hell, the option to play singleplayer is labeled “Play with yourself” which is quite hilarious. Playing through the story mode will last about 4-6 hours depending on how fast you do each mission.
Moving on to gameplay this is where it truly shines, it is absolutely fantastic. Online you can spend hours playing and not realize how much time has gone by. Controls are tight and responsive just as you would hope for, and there are plenty of game modes and maps to keep you busy. To start off you can choose from 5 different classes, The Worker, The Warrior, The Archer, The Priest and The Mage, all which play an important role and can be upgraded to be better on the battlefield. Teamwork is the name of the game here, it is impossible to go solo and capture the opposing teams princess, simply because she is too fat to carry away by yourself and she is usually guarded by at least 3 people. You have to plan strategically and communicate with your team to win so having a mic here is a great advantage. Not only do you have to be smart on offence but defense as well, it is very smart to build up castle doors with a worker and feed your princess cake so she gets fat and in turn a lot harder to carry away. My only complaint about online is that getting into a game can be frustrating, it takes about 30 seconds to find a game and you won’t always get in, and once you do there may be some lag issues, but if you can find a game without lag you will be set for a while.
Offline you can choose between the story, creating your own game with AI, or Gladiate mode. Creating your own game and playing with the AI can be a lot of fun but it doesn’t measure up to the experience you get Online. In Gladiate you can choose between the 5 Classes and honeyour skills against waves of enemies in a coliseum, it can get pretty hard but fun nonetheless.
Fat Princess takes on a cartoon look, similar to that of Windwaker, and it really pulls it off, it fits right in with the comedic style of the game and adds to the experience that much more. As far as the sound goes everything is just as it should be, all the characters hold their own and the music is very medieval sounding to fit the game, overall it doesn’t disappoint in the graphics/sound department but it isn’t exactly shock and awe.
In the end Fat Princess delivers on everything it promised and it will keep you busy for hours on end. It was well worth the wait and for $15 you can’t go wrong, the fun factor is above average and the only thing holding this game back is slight connection issues.
